Harry Potter

We have done Harry Potter events in the past, but this one was the greatest of all.  The birthday girl could not be a bigger Harry Potter fan.  She has read the books, memorized the movies, and even choreographs her own wand wars with her best friends.  Because our crowd was so well versed on this wonderful series, we knew we had to get all of the details just right. It was so rewarding to see how much fun she and her friends had at this party.
We started as all Hogwarts First Years start, at the sorting hat.  Our hat actually spoke with the students and sorted them into one of the four Hogwarts houses.  We knew that our talking hat was a huge hit when many of the students insisted on being sorted multiple times!  The hat was happy to oblige them.... each sorting became a little sillier than the one before it.

Authentic Hogwarts Props

Check out our Firebolt broom, Marauder's Map, Hufflepuff cup, Potion book (opened to the page for polyjuice potion of course) and even a replica of Hogwarts castle!

The Burrow

Student's got to visit our version of the Weasley's famous home.  This vignette boasts it's own Weasley clock, Weasley family photos, and even our version of Ron's sweater!

The Boring Dursley's

Our version of Harry's home with his aunt and uncle.

Centerpieces

11 year olds don't tend to sit down a lot during a party, but we did plan a little bit of guest seating and had a lot of fun with the centerpieces.  We had signs with interesting facts about each of the houses surrounded by ingredients you might find in potions class.

The Feast

We consulted the most versed Harry Potter expert when deciding on the food for the party.  We, of course, included all our favorite HP sweets: crystallized pineapple, chocolate frogs, pretzel wands, and Bertie Bots.  Our savory selections included Hippogriff Tenders and Quidditich Player's Pie.  To drink, Butter Beer of course.
Candy table was displayed with house colors and labels.  Every kids party requires a ton of candy.  Candy during the party, candy to take home after the party.  Fun for kids= Candy!
Our fabulous cake baker did a great job of realizing the birthday girls vision.  Our cake was a large book with a snitch on top.  Cake perfection.

Proclamation.  Educational Decree No. 11

All students must dress in costume and have their picture made.
Dolores Umbridge was onsite to ensure that the proclamation was properly followed.

Hagrid.

The Wand Chooses the Wizard

The students were able to create their own wands.  We had some interesting designs!

Loved this party!!  So thankful for the talented Kassie Moore and the use of her photos!!  Please visit her website at kassiemoorephotography.com and hire her for all of your events because she is fantastic!!!
