Perfect Pink

It's hard to express how much we love designing and decorating a baby shower.  What event could be more important than a new life??  A brand new person whose whole future is ahead of her (or him)... it's miraculous.  So when we began planning the shower to honor K and the impending arrival of Miss Emma, we had a little guilt because this is supposed to be work... instead it was everything girlie and oh so much fun!

Our inspiration started with tutus and feather boas...

Our main tablescape

We wanted to find something that was useful for decorating the shower, but would also look great in Baby Emma's room.  This vintage framed E worked perfectly! The wooden E was painted a dark brown to pop of the lighter background.  It was backed with a soft terrycloth pink fabric which could either be left in place to go with a pink room, or removed to let the wall color show through as Emma grows bigger and room decor changes.

Since Miss E already has a big brother and her mom is ready with most of the main baby stuff, we decided to gift her with a fun basket full of personalized items!

Our very favorite baby gift... personalized burp clothes.  Every baby should have some!!  These came from our friends at Freckled Pink.  You can check out the FP Etsy shop by clicking HERE.

Another great personalized item are these fun note cards.  We asked guests to write their own addresses on the envelopes... We wanted thank you note writing to be super easy for K.  With all of the envelopes already addressed, she was able to just write the notes and send them off.  These cute notecards came from the wonderful Lola Lorena Ltd.  View their website by clicking HERE.

Long stemmed vases filled with pink marshmellows and topped with beautiful paper flowers= the perfect tablescape accessory!!

The marshmellows looked so yummy that we thought we should make them available as a treat, not just a decoration.  Here they are featured on our treat table...

We decided that a fun activity for shower goers was to decorate onesies. We started the fun with few examples above.  Here's what became of our craft:

Here's a sweet guest at work on Emma's creation....

A selection of our wonderful creations....

Our invitation asked everyone to bring Emma a book instead of a card.  Since cards can cost as much as $5.00 and they usually get thrown away, we thought it would be great to asks guests to invest that money in something that would be a keep sake for years to come.  Here is the poem on the invite...

The guests were completely on board... check out the new additions to Emma's library

Love love love the part of the shower that can not be planned.... the compilation of gifts is so fun.    The generosity of our guests was overwhelming!!  Check out the wonderful gift display...

So excited about baby Emma!!!  Congratulations K and E!!!
