Fabulous Fort Worth Club

This is the wedding journey of the beautiful L and her dashing fiance S.  This walk was truly an education for all of us.  What a wonderful experience and fond memory!!  We started with an elegant sanctuary ceremony.  The stylish L is a designer herself, so she knew exactly what she wanted!!  She chose wedding colors of red, black, and white.... Love the fabulous damask!!

After the beautiful exchange of vows, everyone moved on to the fabulous Fort Worth Club in downtown.  This is truly one of our favorite reception locations.  Everything here is fabulous!!  The decor, the food, the atmosphere, everything!!!  We decided to provide transportation for the whole wedding party both to the church and to the reception following the ceremony.  Wedding party transportation is wonderful insurance for a smooth wedding day.  So often it's hard to find parking in downtown and having the Wedding Party arrive seperately and on their own would risk the timing of the announcements into the reception.  If it's in the budget, it's a great asset!!!  Since transportations tends to be one of the sketchiest parts of the wedding industry we decided to stay with a major vendor... thank you Cowtown Charters!!

Guests were greeted at the club with a beautiful guest book table... these are the brides lanterns filled with elegant red roses.  The credenza was filled with shots of the Bride in her beautiful gown.

The Fort Worth Club's Horizon room is equiped with six built in urns on pedestals surrounding a beautiful fountain.  L asked our fabulous florist to fill the urns with the striking red roses.  Branches and hanging candles added to the elegant look.  Pillar candles lined the edge of the fountain.   Floating candles and flowers adorned the water.  Guests were treated to passed hors d'oeuvres and cocktails while L & S took some photos at the church.

CAKES
L picked one of the most majestic cakes.  It was very tall and very detailed.  Made by the fabulously talented Creme de la Creme, it was truly a work of art!!!  And so delicious!!!  S decided that he would like the cupcakes instead of the traditional groom's cake.... also delicious!

CENTERPIECES
If you've read many of our event stories you know we always do an assortment of centerpieces in varying heights.  The first of our three centerpieces was a tall branch floral using hydrangea and red roses.  We repeated the hanging roses and candles from the built in urns.  And of course, we had to use fruit somewhere!!!  A band of cranberries was floating in the middle of the vase.

Our second centerpiece consisted of a large vase overflowing with hydrangea.  The inside of the vase was wrapped with large leaves.  Red rose petals and votive candles were scattered around the base.

Lastly we had this spectacular candle arrangement... roses nestled into a bed of cranberries!!!  So appropriate for a wedding during the holidays!!

The Main Reception room.....

Bridesmaid bouquets added beauty and depth to this gorgeous family picture display.

 Super cool buffet display...

Remarkable Red

RED!!  Considering the fiery hair of our lovely Bride, what could be a more appropriate wedding color choice than bright red?  We had so much fun putting this remarkable affair together!  Since the Bride, J, lives across the country we had the pleasure of working with her mother, T, on all of the lovely details.  Our challenge was to create a one of a kind event without breaking the budget!  As always, we love a challenge and were happy to work with T to create an environment that her precious daughter and future son in law would love.

We wanted to bring in some unique elements, so we started by putting this fun lounge area together.  We love the idea of a circular sofa, but since we couldn't seem to locate such a sofa in our storage area... or in our rental budget, we decided to get creative.  Love Love Love the results!!!  Disclaimer: We can't be held responsible for any guest fights that might ensue over who gets to sit in our fabulous loungy area.....

Lamp light was a major component in the reception.  Together with the candle light, it created a warm, romantic, atmosphere.  So many receptions use floral decorations to create a soft beautiful look.  Candles and lamps are a great way to create the same fuzzy feeling when large flower arrangements aren't in the budget.

Since the wedding was a family friendly event (many dancing kiddos!), the bride opted for a large dance floor using the black, white, and red color scheme.  The dance floor was capped by the dessert table which consisted of cake balls in varying flavors.  Cake Balls are the sort of wedding trend that we can really get on board with... everyone seems to love them.  And why wouldn't they??  So delicious!!!

Since we couldn't fit all 300 guests into our adorable lounge area, we obviously needed some guest tables.  No problem!!  Gracie's was happy to bring our black linens to cover the guest tables.  As with all receptions it's a good idea to mix varying heights of centerpieces.  It's obviously more interesting to have some variety, but it also carries the guests eye throughout the room.  Note to all planning a wedding: be sure to vary your centerpieces!!  We went with four different types of centerpieces, although 2 were variations of the same premise.  We started with these hanging lanterns. The hanger to the right holds one large lantern, elevated on a piece of 12" glass and surrounded by handmade paper flowers.  The wedding party made all of the flowers.  To view a tutorial on creating paper flowers click  HERE.

Our other lantern centerpiece consisted of three smaller hanging lanterns with the same paper flowers.  Aren't the hanging lantern votives beautiful with the backdrop of twinkle lights in the tree??

For our second centerpeice we were looking to get a lot of bang for the buck with our flower purchase.  We opted for these sunken flower arrangements.  These are great because they take a small amount of flowers, but have a unique and different look to them.  The tall vases were topped off with a floating candle to add to our atmosphere.

Lastly we went with an elevated candle arrangement....  LOVE THE CANDLES!!!

For food goodies, the guests were treated to a buffet of chips, various dips, and handrolled chimichangas.  If you've read very many of our event stories, than you have undoubtedly seen our favorite buffet table configurations.  All we can say is that when something works, it works.  We love the 3 round table triangle... this time the same food was featured on each table.  Repeating the same food on each table enables the guests to move through the line and get their food quickly.  We love fast service time!!

Guest book table.... more lanterns!!!

Beautiful wedding day for a beautiful couple!!  Congratulations J and B!!!  So excited about your new life together!!!

Beach Bliss

So living and working in the landlocked DFW area, there's not much opportunity for a REAL beach party.  Luckily we don't let the absence of actual waves and salt water stop us!!  In this fun kids party we utilized beachy elements in all the right places... the guests definitely felt the theme and joined in the fun!  Excited and involved guests is always the goal!!

We started with a fun handpainted sign to greet guests as they drove in.  Since the pool is a little hidden and hard to find, this kind of element is both creative and necessary.

As guests came down the steps to the pool they were greeted with a beach essential... the flip flop.

Of course, since we are in Texas we are open to other kinds of beach foot wear....

Things happened so quickly we were only able to grab a few quick shots with the birthday girl in front of her table... sadly the food wasn't even out!  :(

And what beach is complete without a little yukalaylee music?

Another favorite... the personalized centerpiece!!

Enough about the decor... let's get to the most important part... the FOOD!!  Not sure if this is "beachy" or just a summer staple, but who can resist fresh watermelon on a hot day???

Of course all food at a 7 year old's birthday party should be plate free so we opted for this fun handheld option with a cute display...

Note to all planners of kid's parties... keep the candy free flowing!  It's a guest favorite and will make all of your parties a can't miss event!!

Sticking with the no plates, no forks theme; we went with cupcakes to celebrate the guest of honor!!

In the beverage department, we offered guests Lemonade or Fruit Punch.  The birthday girl got a fun surprise when she arrived... part of our decor was a 5 gallon aquarium with REAL fish... what could be more beachy??

Hot but fun day celebrating a sweet 7 year old... what a pleasure to plan this one!!
