As always we LOVE throwing a baby shower. When else can you pull out everything just over the top and overly cutesie?? This time we had the treat of celebrating the upcoming arrival of Baby Benjamin. Benjamin will be the first little blessing in his family so Mom and Dad need everything baby!! What fun to participate in little Ben's celebration!!! Our shower brainstorming started pretty much where it always does... using what we already have. In this case it was helpful that one of our wonderful hostesses has the largest duckie collection this side of the Red River. Love love love a theme!! It was decided that the theme would be duckies, and the results were so great!
Baby Blessing
As guests arrived, they were greeted with our blessing station. We asked every lovely lady to write a blessing for K, our mom to be. Once the sweet cards were written, we hung them on our blessing tree!!
THE FOOD
Because the shower was held at 2:00pm we knew we didn't need a full meal, but you can't get a bunch of ladies together without something fattening to bond over.... there must be food and it must be delicious!! Since our Mom to Be survives solely on a diet of quesadillas, we decided to serve them in her honor!! So our spread was Tex-Mex themed... and very delicious!!

BEN'S BOOK NOOK
We asked each guest to consider bringing a small book instead of a card for Baby Ben. Since cards can cost as much as $5 we thought that a book would be a much better investment and used for years to come. Of course we still wanted the sweet sentiments that guests usually write in cards... so we encouraged everyone to write in the front of the book. The results were so fun... and Mr. Benjamin now has a huge library!!
SHE'S CRAFTY
So let's be real ladies, we've all been to some lame showers. Not to say that the average shower is boring, but sometimes watching a friend, even your best friend, open 400 packages of diapers can be a snooze-fest. We decided to up the interest factor with a fun activity/ craft. We asked all the lovely ladies to create a special onesie for Baby Ben. Luckily we had a creative crowd and Ben will be blessed to wear some masterpieces...

SO SWEET
After the crafty onesie making, we settled down to watch the gift opening. But as we know, you can't JUST watch gifts being opened, you must also eat! We aim to please in that department!! Disclaimer: we can not be held responsible for any guests who might lapse into a sugar induced coma after visit our sweets table.
